This year we officially launched our YouthLed Restoration for a Resilient Kibale Corridor program, funded by the Disney Conservation Fund. This twoyear initiative engages young people as active stewards of the Kibale–Queen Elizabeth corridor—one of Uganda’s most important wildlife landscapes—and empowers them to protect endangered elephants, chimpanzees, and the rich biodiversity that depends on this forest.
Through youthled forest restoration and handson conservation education, the program aims to secure the longterm integrity of this critical wildlife corridor, inspire the next generation of conservation leaders, and reduce human pressure on forests.
A major milestone this year was establishing new nursery beds at our farm. Wildlife Club members are now raising 15,000 native tree seedlings that will be planted inside Kibale National Park and shared with forestedge communities to restore degraded areas and strengthen habitat connectivity. These students are gaining practical skills in restoration, nursery management, and ecological monitoring—skills that will serve them and their communities for years to come.
The grant also allows us to expand youth conservation learning through Conservation Career Days, studentled video storytelling, and the scaling of our youthled fuelefficient cookstove outreach. These activities help students understand real conservation career pathways, build confidence as environmental storytellers, and lead climatefriendly household solutions that reduce pressure on forests.
Together, these efforts are creating a powerful movement of young conservation leaders who are restoring forests, protecting wildlife, and shaping a more resilient future for the Kibale corridor.
