On October 3rd, the Newberg Animal Shelter celebrated with an Open House. We celebrated with a face painter, taco wagon, dog trainer , City K9 unit, popcorn and raffles. The shelter lobby was filled with customers, the shelter store stocked new inventory, videos displayed names of donors and adoptable animals. Our donors looked for their newly installed paver or bricks in the front patio. Seven kittens were adopted! It was a very successful, fun day. We can't say THANK YOU enough to our supporters.
The Open House was a good opportunity for the community to meet our new Shelter Manager, Sarah Williams-Jarred. Her picture is included. She is working hard to care for our animals and find them good new homes.
The Newberg Animal Shelter Friends are operating the shelter, as well as, continuing to finish the building with an HVAC system. In my last report, I mentioned how HOT it was this summer in the lobby and cat room areas. We need to get an HVAC before next summer's heat.
We are working on our future events and building a good infrastructure of shelter volunteers to clean and care for animals. This is no small task. Our challenges grow as the business grows.
Thank you for your support, whether it be volunteering, donations of supplies, funding or prayers.
Our animals appreciate YOU!
