We hope you're keeping cool during some of our hottest summer days!
We have good news...........on July 1st, Sarah Williams-Jarred started her new job, as Shelter Manager. We're really excited to have a full-time experienced Shelter Manager to allow us to provide more services to the public. Soon we will be open longer hours and have the ability to do pet outreach events and provide other services that we have not had the ability or manpower to do. In the past, Sarah has been the Assistant Manager at Homeward Bound Pets in McMinnville and has Vet Tech certification to help us with many operational duties. We are thrilled to have her at the Shelter.
Our next big project, will be to get an HVAC system installed by next summer. This summer has been very hot and without ventilation and cooling, the building is almost unbearable. We are trying to cool the shelter the best we can, by watering down the kennels and setting up as many fans as possible. We have a one-room air conditioner, that cannot handle the job of cooling the entire building. The animals are taking the heat well and we are doing what we can to keep them comfortable. Hopefully we will have a cooling trend soon!
We have some fundraising events planned for the fall and there will be more details coming in the next report.
Thank you for your continued support and please visit our website and FaceBook pages.
