Thank you Global Giving Donors!
A new spring newsletter is available from the NASF website. The front page shows pictures of the current work being done at the shelter: http://www.newberganimalshelterfriends.org/newsletter_spring_2014_final.pdf
It's spring and improvements are being made inside and out. Some landscaping has been started, the ordered pavers should be delivered soon and hopefully installed quickly. The north dog kennels are almost finished.
As of July 1st, the City of Newberg has decided to eliminate the Animal Control Program from the city budget. This has been a hard reality to face for the City and for NASF. The Animal Control officer has been the director and mentor for the shelter volunteers. To continue utilizing the new building and provide animal services, volunteers will continue to operate the shelter.
Please continue to support the shelter during this transition period. The services provided by the shelter is important to the City of Newberg, Dundee and by the County. It is our goal to insure many of these services are still available and still provide care of our local animals.
Thank you again and hopefully there will be more details about shelter operations in the next report.
