Newberg Animal Shelter Friends are working with the City of Newberg to finish the dog and cat kennel areas before November 1st, when the weather turns more severe. The old shelter roof is in need of repair and won't make it through another winter without major repairs.
Habitat for Humanity and the Newberg City Councilmen worked together last week, to build the interior wall frames. This really helps get the work done and becomes a great community effort.
The dog kennels will be built out of cinderblocks with chain-link gates and materials will be delivered on Octoboer 2nd.
It will take a few weeks to complete all 24 kennels (includes Intake and Quaratine kennels).
NASF is working on a couple of grants, hoping to be able to pay for the kennel gates and the garage door openers. We need 4 commerical grade garage door openers as soon as possible.
If you're interested in following the construction steps, check out the Construction blogsite link.
We are trying to enter blog data of our needs and the dates we need it. Please follow our progress.
Thank you for support the Newberg Animal Shelter. There are many good things happening right now!
