It's beginning to look like Spring at the animal shelter. Our kitten population has started growing. We have several pregnant momma's and a few kittens getting ready to go to wonderful new homes. The dogs are enjoying more outside time in the warmth of a little more sunshine. It's a wonderful site!
We've had 152 adoptions since the beginning of this year. Thanks to your generous donations, we are able to give them a comfortable place to stay, temporarily, until they find new homes.
Our annual Wine and Whiskers Dinner and Auction event is April 28th. Please see our website for ticket details if you can join us. There will be videos of our animals and a special video showing the volunteers and staff working at the shelter.
We have exciting news to share!
We have been engaged with the city of Newberg as it considers the sale of the Newberg Animal Shelter building (we have been leasing it from the City). Given the uncertainty that has brought, it has become clear that the best path toward a stable future for the shelter is to buy the building ourselves.
This will require a significant fundraising campaign. We are thrilled to announce that Newberg businessman and A-dec founder Ken Austin and his family, through a fund set up with the Oregon Community Foundation, will match every dollar raised! Please see our website for how you can double your donation dollars and help us purchase the building!
We appreciate your donations very much.
