SustainUS is undergoing a major transformation. This year, we're working through a major 5-year strategic planning process, launching a new climate trainings program, implementing a new paid-labor structure to expand our capacity, and completely revamping our website. All this work takes resources -- which is where you can help. We're raising grassroots funds to help cover the costs of our strategic planning retreat and new website transition. Please donate if you can, and spread the news!
SustainUS's mission is to "empower young people to advance sustainable development." For most of our history, we've operated at the United Nations, becoming experts in the UNFCCC climate negotiations and other international conferences. But advocating at the UN is not enough to achieve a just and sustainable world by itself, so we're redesigning the organization and building a new SustainUS to better achieve our mission and advance our vision for sustainable development.
By the end of the redesign process, we'll complete four major steps. We'll finish a comprehensive Strategic Planning Process, with specific program and campaign goals for the next 5 years. We'll develop a domestic climate campaign, in partnership with the Energy Action Coalition. We'll have a completely revamped website, powered by an integrated digital organizing platform. And last but not least, we'll develop a new SustainUS leadership training initiative.
For well over a decade, SustainUS has produced outstanding leaders in the fields of climate advocacy and sustainable development. If we're successful in this organizational redesign, we will expand our ability to produce great leaders while greatly increasing the impact of our campaigns and programs. Our hope is to build from the best qualities of SustainUS to create a stronger organization with national and global impact, aiding the effort to create a more just and sustainable world.
