New playground for the Keshatot School

The Fund for Keshatot Children [reg. no. 580540532, recognized charity, clause 46, Israel Income Tax Authority] was established in 2011 by parents of pupils who study at the Keshatot Center in order to support and expand the work of the center. The Keshatot Center is a multi-regional magnet school serving 89 children age 3 – 13 on the autism spectrum in 2 kindergartens and 11 elementary school classes. The fund seeks contributions for complementary para-medical treatments [which are not among the therapies and treatments provided by the Ministry of Education], therapeutic and technological equipment and infrastructure improvement. The fund also organizes enrichment and recreational activities provided by local volunteers. Because the Fund for Keshatot Children is run solely by volunteers, all monies raised go directly towards these activities. The success of our School Playground Renovation Project has encouraged the Fund for Keshatot Children and the staff of the Keshatot Center to keep making dreams come true, this time by renovating the 2 smaller playgrounds for our 2 kindergartens which serve children age 3-6. [The cost of both kindergarten playgrounds is 250,000 shekels including taxes.] So far, we have signd the contract and ordered the playgrounds. The structures were fabricated and should be arriving to the Keshatot Center in late June. 

We have already engaged in the project and have raised 80% of the funds, we are appealing to you to take part in building playgrounds suitable to the needs of our kindergarteners. We will update again as soon as the construction begins.

2017 was a year of unprecedented activity and progress for the Fund for Keshatot Children. Thanks to your unflagging support and contributions we were able to undertake and complete four projects which cost 250,000 shekels [$1 = 3.44 shekels] in all. In this spirit, we hope to rise to greater heights in 2018 and assist the hardworking Keshatot pupils and staff even more.

The dream of a new playground comes true.

Thanks to the support from the National Insurance Institute, funds, organizations, and friends and supporters of the Keshatot Center, the elementary school playground has been totally renovated and rebuilt from the ground up. Artificial grass has replaced the sand-covered play area. Where old and broken play equipment once stood, brand new play structures invite the children to test and improve their motor planning skills, problem-solving abilities, equilibrium, balance, coordination, muscle tone, perceptual functioning and self-image while having fun at recess and breaks. The children and staff were excited to see their old playground being turned into a colorful and stimulating play space custom-made just for them. New Therapy Room for Keshatot Center’s Communication Clinicians

The Keshatot Center was forced to convert its dedicated Communication Clinicians’ Therapy Room to a classroom to accommodate our ever-increasing school population. When the administration of the Keshatot Center approached the Fund for Keshatot Children for help in building a new Communication Clinicians’ Therapy Room, we were able to fund the entire project with your donations. The room provides an appropriate environment for communications therapy and is used daily. ( / ' )

Continuing Support for Projects and Therapies

Smart Classrooms Project

The Fund for Keshatot Children continues to fund apps, repairs and up-grades for iPads and smart boards in every school and kindergarten classroom. This year the Fund purchased 7 additional iPads equipped with the TouchChat App, especially strong and shock-resistant protective cases suitable for use with our pupils and 2 large TV screens connected to iPads in our 2 new classrooms.

Reflexology, Yoga, and Movement Therapies

The Fund for Keshatot Children continues to support and fund reflexology, yoga, and movement therapies [which are not provided by the Ministry of Education] for Keshatot school and kindergarten pupils. All three therapies contribute to improved listening and concentration skills, balance and equilibrium, and also provide relaxing physical activity that leads to inner calm and mindfulness.
