This project will renovate the playground at the Keshatot school for autistic children (305 sqm). The current playground includes sand as the surface, which irritates many of the children and causes and a few old swings. We wish to create a shaded playground, with synthetic grass and specialized recreational facilities (jungle gym. new swings, etc.), according to the recommendations of the occupational therapists and the school staff.
The "Keshatot" (Rainbow) Center for autistic children functions as a kindergarten and a primary school, for 80 pupils ages 3-13. The goal of the Center is to enhance the children's ability to participate in mainstream society. The school playground is 8 years old and consists of a sand covered courtyard and some old swings. The sand is highly irritable to many of the autistic children and the few swings are inadequate for the children.
We will renovate the entire courtyard, starting with a new and sturdy synthetic grass courtyard (similar to AstroTurf) and with specialized recreational facilities (jungle gym, new swings, etc.), according to the recommendations of the occupational therapists and the school staff. We will provide an entire project, including the shading and allow the autistic children to enjoy and benefit from their breaks.
The new playground will provide an enhanced break for 80 autistic children in the Keshatot school. With a 10 year warranty on the synthetic grass and the facilities, we can assist the children during the coming decade.
