Our current vehicle is over 14 years old and we are in need of a new one. This vehicle is used for our catch and release spay/neuter program for India's street dogs and for rescuing sick and injured dogs. During April, the vehicle started to break down more than usual and hindered our ability to hit our spay/neuter goals.
Dharamsala Animal Rescue (DAR) works to end the human/street dog conflict. One of our main program is catch and release spay/neuter (sterilization) in order to stabilize population growth, and prevent unwanted puppies being born to live difficult lives on the street. Our large ambulance (Mahindra Jeep) is the vehicle we use for catching and releasing dogs for this program. The jeep is now over 14 years old and is in constant need of repairs. We are in need of a new one.
The new vehicle will allow us to continue our work uninterrupted - before the old one stops working altogether or repairs become too expensive.
Getting the new vehicle will allow us to continue our work for years to come, from sterilization to rescue.
