New Lab Building To Meet Increased Demands

The American Partners are happy to announce that the exterior of the New Lab Building is complete and all but two of the rooms within this facility are finished and furnishing are installed.The four major diagnostic rooms are the Clinical Chemistry, Histology, Haemotology and Microbiology laboratories. Much of the necessary equipment for diagnosing diseases, determining the best treatments, and monitoring patient health have been installed in the Clinical Chemistry and Haemotology labs and are functioning. Histology and Microbiology labs are using some newly installed equipment, but are waiting for additional equipment to complete the full diagnostic capabilities of these labs. The space in the building that is designated for the Blood Bank remains to be furnished and equipped.

Fund-raising will continue for the new laboratory building until all equipment and functions for a full range of diagnostic techologies are available to the Mwandi General Hospital's physicians and the Blood Bank is completed The American Partners ask all of our supporters to continue donating through this GlobalGiving site until all this new state-of-the-art laboratory building is fully functional. 

The pictures attached were taken during a recent tour of the new facility led by one of the highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientists working at the hospital. He and the other members of his team are very grateful for this new, spacious facility which will revolutionize the diagnostic capabilities they are able to provide for the physicians of the Mwandi General Hospital.
