New Hope a Reality This Christmas!
At the end of November, Phase One of our Schools of Good Hope Project came to an end with some absolutely fabulous results! Over the course of this year, we have trained more than double the number of teachers we anticipated, and a fantastic 1349 children benefitted- over 200 more than we started with!
Before our project, seven of Zambia’s poorest communities were doing their best to educate the children who were unable to access government schools, by setting up their own. The probelm with this was that the teachers were largely untrained and the schools had virtually no resources. The resulting poor education meant a poor future for the children.
Over the last 12 months you have helped us turn that around! We have been able to go beyond training teachers and providing basic educational materials to even help build new classrooms and toilets!
We wanted to find out about the impact of the project so we interviewed our communities and teachers, before and after, to see what they thought. Our pictures say it all!
PEPAIDS believes that education is a lifeline out of poverty. This year, YOU have helped us give 1349 of Zambia’s poorest school children just that. They have new hope this Christmas. Thank you!
