The project attends to chioldren from the poor communities of Babahohyo, Ecuador by providing: (a) special education and medical care to 41 children with physical and mental disabilities; and (b) provide after-school tutorial and skills training workshop to 33 children from dysfunctiional families with drug problems, are sexually and physically abuse (c) provide the parents' children coounselling, know-how to cope with the disabilities. and assist in legal aid.
The project needs additional aid to sustain the cost of operating the center where the children with disabilities and special needs are provided the services.
1. The project alleviates the burden on the poor familties unable to provide the special care for their children with physical and mental disabilities and special psycho-social needs. 2. The project keeps the children from endagering themselves when not at home. 3. The project provide parents with knowledge to cope with the disabilities of their children.
