First update

By Binod Neupane | Project Manager

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are excited to share the first official update on our journey to make aviation education accessible to all through Nepal’s First Flying Classroom. While we are still in the early phases, we’ve made significant foundational progress—thanks to your support and encouragement!

1. Key Milestone Reached: Official Approval Secured!
We are proud to announce that we have received formal approval from the Pokhara Metropolitan City to proceed with this innovative project. This endorsement marks a major step forward and gives us a solid institutional foundation to build upon.

2. Collaborative Curriculum Development Underway
We are now co-developing a comprehensive aviation education curriculum in close collaboration with:

  • Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)

  • Education Department of Pokhara Metropolitan City

  • Pokhara International Airport

  • District Education Development and Coordination Unit

This curriculum will integrate STEM, aviation fundamentals, and career exposure activities tailored for students from marginalized and underserved communities.

3. Community Engagement and Needs Assessment Completed
To ensure that our program truly reflects local needs and aspirations, we conducted a situational analysis and gathered insights from students, teachers, parents, and government stakeholders across Pokhara and Syangja districts. The findings confirm a strong interest in aviation education, especially among young learners who had never imagined a career in the skies.

Challenges Ahead – We Need Your Support
While momentum is building, we still have a long journey ahead. Critical funding is needed to:

  • Design and launch the mobile classroom

  • Procure teaching materials and aviation models

  • Train local educators

  • Conduct pilot sessions in target schools

Without this next phase of support, we risk delaying the impact this program can have on hundreds of young minds.

A Heartfelt Thank You
Your belief in this bold idea has brought us this far. Together, we are planting the seeds of hope and opportunity for the next generation of aviators, engineers, and innovators in Nepal. We are committed to transparency and long-term change, and we’ll continue updating you as this dream takes flight.

With deep gratitude,
Binod Neupane
