Improving schools will encourage attendance and promote safety for the children while parents are busy in the fields. A child in school is safe from child traffickers and child labor. It has been 1 year since the Nepal earthquake that left schools in ruin and children feeling groundless and disoriented. Although aid has helped to relieve immediate needs and concerns, people in remote areas are still without proper schools. Improving schools will encourage attendance and promote safety for the children while parents are busy in the fields. A child left unsupervised is a target for child traffickers. Without education there is little hope for a better life.
Each library acts as a learning resource center for improving reading and writing skills. These 5 villages are isolated and do not have access to reading materials (newspapers and books) and facility for online courses. Consequently, this project will improve the reading and writing skills of the people and connect the villages with the global society. Library access builds good reading habits and opens the world to children.
The desire and willingness to learn will be improved by having an easy access to educational tools. Reading and writing skills of village children will improve grades and open their world as they read and learn about other cultures and life outside of the village.
