On May 12th, Nepal was hit by another earthquake just 50 miles from Mount Everest.
The Nepalese people are shaken and in need of medical care more urgently than ever before. .
Medicines on the Ground: Nepal Earthquake Relief
The Facts:
o 7.8 magnitude earthquake 04/25
o Over 8,000 reported dead
o Tens of thousands wounded
o 7.3 magnitude earthquake 05/12
MAP's Response:
o 30 MAP Medical Mission Packs, worth $330,000 arrived in Nepal with ACTS World Relief and will be used to treat 6,000+ people.
o 50 MAP RX Medical Mission Packs, worth $400,000 are currently being airlifted in to treat nearly 15,000 people.
o 38 MAP Medical Mission packs, worth $83,600 are being airlifted in with MedShare to treat 14,000 people.
o 6 IEHK (Interagency Emergency Health Kit) have reached Nepal for International Medical Corps to use on the ground. They will treat 60,000 people for 90 days.
o 6 pallets of oral rehydration salts are being airlifted in to Nepal in order to combat dehydration.
o Multiple container shipments are being prepared with antibiotics and other essential relief items for long term recovery and will leave MAP Brunswick shortly.
o MAP's current medicines on the ground are being used at Sheer Adventist Hospital and Mobile Medical Clinics near the epicenter.
