Dear Friends,
Greetings of Peace. We are fortunate during this time to be able to link with the Filipino community association in Nepal headed by Dr. Sharon Gayosa Shakya and based in Latipur City. Dr. Sharon is married to a Nepali who is also a doctor and their group is called "Alay Nepal" or in English "Help Nepal." They were active too providing relief support to the Philippines during Typhoon Yolanda. Their group conducts regular medical and dental services to far-flung villages in Nepal. In one of their sorties, Jed Christian Sayre was able to provide much-needed hygiene kits to 203 earthquake survivors who came for medical check-ups. We will closely collaborate with them as we are also collaborating with other local organizations. Our next move aside from continuing distribution of hygiene kits will be to install prototype model low-cost toilets as we found out that toilets are badly needed in the area. Local materials such as bamboo, round-wood, palm roofing are available in the area. Once we have installed the model toilets, we will start training the villagers how to use it and to install additional ones.
Again, thank you very much for your kind support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
