My name is Rosalie. I come from Thiou, a village in northern Burkina Faso. I am currently living in a camp for internally displaced people in Ouahigouya due to insecurity in the region.
Thanks to generous donations to Global NEEED Burkina from Burkina Faso Girls’ Education Fund and GlobalGiving, my school fees are covered and I receive lunch at the canteen at the Lycee Moderne de l’Amitie. Without this, my education would not be possible.
Today, I am full of joy and pride. I have just earned my Brevet d'Études du Premier Cycle (the equivalent to a middle school diploma), which allows me to proceed on to secondary school, also at the Lycee Moderne de l’Amitie. This success is the fruit of my efforts but also and especially thanks to the support and confidence Global NEEED Burkina and its donors have placed in me.
My profound gratitude to all who have given me and other girls in my situation the opportunity for an education.
My sincere thank you to Global NEEED Burkina, Burkina Faso Girls’ Education Fund and GlobalGiving for this opportunity which has changed my life.
