The Ndirima-Litembo community has continued to ready the physical plant for the preschool for Ndirima-Litembo Montessori School. They've built a kitchen to prepare lunches for the children. They've added an office for the school to house the administrative services. They're awaiting a grant to fund the building of a toilet facility for the children.
This continues to be a community that wholeheartedly embraces this project and is making it happen. As a community they have come together, learned and practiced new skills (building a school building), committed themselves to opening a pre-school for their children, and inspite of seemingly insurmountable challenges have pushed forward to fruition. The school is expected to open in January 2023 with a trained Montessori teacher, a set of Montessori materials the new teacher made, in a classroom building outfitted with the shelves, tables, and chairs appropriate to the pre-school age children.
Donors through GlobalGiving have almost fulfilled our obligation to Ndirima-Litembo Montessori School. We're responsible for funding the tuition, room and board, plus transportation to and from Mtwara Teachers College. We're so pleased to be able to help this Montessori school open in far western Tanzania in a small subsistence farming community. We're helping the complete the dreams of a community for a better education for their children.
Please help close the gap in our funding. Monthly donations are especially appreciated. Consider making donations on a monthly basis.
