Fifteen years old Rima* aims to be a Police. Her father works in another State and mother, handles all the house chores as well as sometimes she works as daily wage earner. Together her parents earn around INR 3000 per month which makes it difficult for them to meet the both ends. Rima* lives with her parents and elder brother in a mud house at remote Mahabatnagar village of South 24 Parganas District of West Bengal, India.
Presently, Rima* is in 9th standard at a local higher secondary school - 'Mahabatnagar Kailashpur Milan Siksha Sadan'. Previously Rima* was not very good in studies. Due to financial vulnerability, her parents couldn't enroll her in any tuition, as a result of which she was not very good in her studies and lost interest. And this loss of interest led her to bunk school sometimes.
Since 2021 Rima* has been associated with the Nayantara programme. After getting guidance from the appointed tutors, Rima* has now showing improvements in her studies.
Her favorite subject is Bengali. In free time Rima* loves to dance. She aspires to be a Police and in future wants to see herself as an independent woman.
Rima* and her parents showed her gratitude towards Sabuj Sangha for the extending support.
