Wild Horse & Burro Rescue & Sanctuary Mission

As the remaining number of Wild Horses in the U.S. nears extinction, education and appreciation through the protection and observation of Wild Horses in natural sanctuary environments becomes tantamount to their survival as a species. America’s Wild Horses cannot be reproduced once they are gone.

We recently saved over forty five imperiled Navajo Mustangs, ages 6 weeks -5 years old, including several pregnant mares and many orphan foals. Sadly they were on the verge of shipping to slaughter after being captured in New Mexico (NM). We evacuated out of NM, provided for their veterinary medical care and secured safe harbor under the Wild For Life Foundation Mustang Recovery Center, thanks to your kind and generous support.

Through Global Giving, with your kind and generous support we’ve raised $975 so far this year. And to date, since the launching of this important project we have raised $4,618 toward our crucial goal of $10,000.

Wild for Life Foundation’s (WFLF) Navajo Horse Rescue and Recovery Mission (NHRRM) is a lifesaving program which provides emergency rescue and placement services for wild horses, burros and orphan foals that that have been victimized by roundups or found in life threatening danger. Our gentle, soothing rescue and rehabilitation process is allowing rescued Mustangs to heal in peaceful safe environments. As rescued horses heal, their successful transitions to educational Ambassadors create a lasting impact on the public to assure their protection from roundups, slaughter, abuse and other forms of animal cruelty.

At WFLF rescue is just the beginning of a long, dedicated endeavor to provide the best quality of life for victimized horses. We are dedicated to assuring the forever safe harbor of all rescue horses coming into our program, which means seeing that their housing, feed and care is provided for the lifetime of each equine. The Wild for Life Foundation needs your continued support in order to aid these and other victimized wild horses in need.

We implement very specialized medical care and handling procedures for these untouchable wild horse calls to avoid causing added stress or injury to the animals and to avoid injury our medical providers. Oftentimes the utilization of prescription sedation is required and must be administered by a licensed veterinary medical doctor. Providing this kind of quality care for wild Mustangs is costly and our expenses to save, house, feed, and care for these victimized wild Mustangs have added up to tens of thousands of dollars.

Wild for Life Foundation is working around the clock to help assure and provide the forever safe harbor of wild and domestic equines. We are an all volunteer 501 c3 charity and we rely 100% on donations. Your continued kind support enables us to provide everything from veterinary medical care, to farriers, to nutritional hay and feed, to nursery and foaling enclosures to safe natural habitat spaces and beyond. Wild For Life Foundation delivers an important public service by providing a place where orphaned, distressed, injured, or displaced horses and burros get a second chance at life and are able to thrive in natural habitats.
