Project Report | Sep 24, 2018
Aug 2018 Report and Update

By Katia Louise | Director

We at Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF) believe that the circle of life is eternal and in realizing how we came to be where we are, we must also look ahead at where we are going. We as native people honor our horse relatives, and the American public, without a doubt is adamantly opposed to slaughtering them. Horses are as much a part of the land as we are; their future is our future.

The public would be surprised, if not outraged to learn that U.S. government agencies, including the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forestry and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) have in fact been encouraging the eradication of America’s wild horses from public lands. Sadly, countless horses and burros are under threat of EXTERMINATION across the country, targeted for elimination from America’s public and native rangeland homes under government agency population management practices.

The WFLF Navajo Horse Rescue and Recovery Mission (NHRRM) is a lifesaving program which provides rescue and sanctuary placement services for wild horses, burros and orphan foals that that have been saved from roundups, slaughter and other forms of cruelty. These animals come to us traumatized, shattered, desperate and betrayed. Through our program they find love, quality care, safety, compassion, dignity, trust, hope and a new beginning. WFLF provides lifesaving aid and care for at risk horses and burros. WFLF has indeed rescued and secured safe harbor for hundreds of horses and burros through our rescue recovery mission, but our work is only made possible through continued donations in support of our mission. Without the kind and compassionate support from people like you we would have to turn at risk horses away.

As the remaining number of Wild Horses in the U.S. nears extinction, education and appreciation through their protection in the wild as well as safe and natural sanctuary environments becomes tantamount to their survival as a species. America’s Wild Horses cannot be reproduced once they are gone.

America's wild horses and burros are living symbols of the historic spirit of the West. They contribute to the diversity of life forms within the Nation and enrich the lives of the American people.  However they are sadly disappearing from the American landscape and must be protected.

The Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) has stepped up in troubled times and saved hundreds of America's horses and burros. But, we cannot do this alone. It takes all of us working together to assure they receive the protection they need, to raise awareness, effect positive change and save as many lives as possible.

Through GlobalGiving, with your continued kind and generous support we’ve raised $3560 through 126 donations to date, toward our crucial goal of $10,000.  A lifetime of care for wild horses and burros can be up to 30 years or more per equine. With emergencies constantly needing attention across social media, yesterday’s emergencies are often forgotten and yet sanctuary programs like ours continue to need help to do our lifesaving work.

Another way that GlobalGiving members can help assure quality care and habitats for the neediest animals served through our program is through pledging monthly support so that these and newly arriving rescue equines will continue to receive quality food, medical care, safe harbor, and the loving hands-on attention they need. Monthly giving is the easiest and most effective way to support this lifesaving mission. We are seeking to increase the number of monthly donors to help assure a consistent, reliable income stream that allows us to tackle whatever case may come through our doors. From serious trauma, starvation, or other physical or emotional, or painful debilitating conditions, your assistance in helping to rally compassionate monthly gifts will help us keep them safe and assure that these vulnerable victimized animals will always receive the primary care they need.

You can make a difference by sharing information about this important cause with your friends and family. Will you share this message with five of your friends right now?

Wild For Life Foundation is 501 (c)3 nonprofit tax exempt charity dedicated to the prevention of animal cruelty and we rely 100% on donations. We implement high standards and best practices in all animal care which ties directly to our rescue and sanctuary success. We see rescuing at-risk and victimized animals as a sacred trust. By serving these animals through a gentle, soothing rescue and rehabilitation process we enable those who have arrived injured and in-shock to heal and thrive in calm and safe environments. Your continued kind support enables us to advance our lifesaving mission.  Please make your voice heard by sharing this important update and by inviting your friends to take part in supporting our lifesaving cause. Together, we are their voice, and they need to be heard.

As always we thank you for supporting this vital lifesaving mission.

Sincerely,

Katia Louise, Director
