The project's mission is to enhance capacity of digital community center assembly.org.ua in the strengthening of social movement in East Ukraine uniting autonomous and self-organized efforts for progressive transformation of local society from below.
The tension in Ukraine is getting stronger every week. News flow about the collapse in entire economic sectors due to gas prices - from vegetable greenhouses to the glass industry and even bakeries. Big war expectations cause mass divestment; the economic impact of pandemic, showed in 2021 one of the highest death rates in Europe with the almost absence of social payments, keep getting deeper. And in addition to the general storm, our city is only about 200 miles from the Donbass frontline.
That's why we start this fundraising for the series of online journalist/education materials with the following goals: 1) wider and more regular publicity of stories from people seeking help due to precarization and related problems; 2) media coverage for collective efforts on the workplaces aiming to prevent the conditions deterioration; 3) support to those who are persecuted due to labor conflicts; 4) comprehensive familiarizing of readers with horizontal syndicalist methods and tactics.
Freed for 5-6 months from necessity to devote all the time to precarious low-paid jobs, our collective will make preconditions for the organizing of broad mutual aid network by the local working class on a permanent basis. In turn, we are sure that successful realization of this idea not only makes our city safer and more sustainable but will be a valuable experience for grassroots movements across other geographies. Final results and conclusions will be published in English!
