Mustaches in May 2010 was once again a great success raising close to $5,000, our annual goal, for the services at The West Women's and Children's Shelter. With the proceeds of the event, we have been able to support our operating costs for our emergency shelter serving survivors of domestic violence and their families.
In addition to supporting operating costs of our emergency shelter, we have also been able to support our annual trip for the women and children of The West to go to the beach each August at Camp Magruder for a day full of fun activities. For many women and children this is their first experience on the Oregon coast and they are able to have lasting memories from the day. While at the beach we have activities for the kids and women where they are able to take part in canoeing, swimming, crafts, rope swing, donkey rides, etc..
As always the Mustaches in May 2010 event was fun filled and staff of West Women's and Children's Shelter was honored to have the support of so many employees of NIKE who satnd with us in our efforts to end domestic violence in our community.
