Over the past four months, Musicians for the World has expanded their reach to Argentina, Uruguay, and, most recently, Uganda.
Late in May, the Argentinean music program, Programa Coros y Orquestas de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, was invited to join our compositional skills workshop. This workshop put to practice both their music theory and composition skills while introducing them to MFW students from all around the world. After a truly enriching collaboration, Programa Coros y Orquestas de la Provincia de Buenos Aires decided to become MFW's global partners, entering their students into weekly composition, viola, clarinet, and cello classes. Since then, their students have had the opportunity to debut their compositions in MFW's composition recital with students from across the globe performing their works. They have performed in our Masterclass Series for renowned artists such as Arsentiy Kharitonov, Alejandro Drago, and Rhonda Rider.
At the start of September, we were contacted by a youth orchesta in Uruguay called Orquesta Sinfonica Eduardo Fabini. This youth orchestra has only two teachers - one for all string instruments and another for all other instruments - and no young musician in this orchestra recievies private instruction. After partnering with MFW, any young musician from Orquesta Sinfonica Eduardo Fabini who wants instruction will have it available to them. So far, Orquesta Sinfonica Eduardo Fabini's students have joined our weekly violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, and piano classes.
Our newest global partner is even more recent than our friends in Uruguay. Just last week, we were contacted by a nonprofit based orphanage called God's Love Home & School, located in Kampala, Uganda. This orphanage provides housing, food, clothing, and education for its members. We at MFW are honored to be officially adding music education to this nonprofit's mission. We will start off this new partnership by offering voice, percussion and beginner piano lessons - the goal in this parternship is to teach the students to read and write music so that they can transcribe their own unique musical styles. We are very much looking forward to getting started with our newest global partner!
Each life that we touch is all thanks to you. It is because of your support that we are able to do what we do. As always, we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
