If there is one thing that has been getting more and more attention this year at DREAM, it is our Music Program. Our young musicians have truly become famous, playing with so many jazz, bachata, classical and rock stars it is almost unbelievable. What started with a handful of passionate, local volunteers has grown into the most famous music program in the region, with partnerships with FEDUJAZZ, IASO Records, Yamaha and the Wimbash Concert Series.
We have had an amazing experience with FEDUJAZZ, led by Ramon Vasquez. His dedication to our youth and focus on their musical education has been a great addition to the foundation laid by our local volunteers and DREAM Music Program coordinator, Juan Guivin.
DREAM is looking forward to hosting Doug Wimbish and The Wimbash Concert Series once again this year, with special guests. The most rewarding aspect of this international show is the time Doug spends running Master Classes and workshops with our young musicians.
Finally, The IASO Bachata Academy has blossomed into the world's most incredible bachata school, with the genre's most famous musicians joining forces with our youth, such as Kiko Rodriguez. Bachata fills the air in the Cabarete DREAM Education Center and thanks to our flow of "bachateros", more and more local youth learning the DR's most authentic musical art form.
The DREAM Band has a following all its own, with regular performances in the best venues throughout the north coast of the DR. Music has become a refuge for these youth and truly formed their identity. As they continue to play, they also double down with academic support and all our DREAM students, form our Montessori Preschool students to our Young Stars, are exposed to the benefits of music education.
Thanks to you, the music keeps playing and our musicians keep learning. Please consider contributing to a young musician today, 100% of DREAM donations go straight to programs, so you know your vision will make a true difference!
