In the end, growth and sustainability play a big part in everything we do here at DREAM. In the case of our music program (http://dominicandream.org/projects/youthdevelopment/dream-music-program), we have had the good fortune to attract a small group of very passionate donors (like you!), who all believe the power of music will keep kids in school, learning, exploring and growing.
DREAM is honored to call a team of contributors our base for this vision. We work with the DR Jazz Foundation (FEDUJAZZ) to offer high quality music instruction, inspiring our young students and opening the world of jazz through coursework taught and designed by Ramon Vasquez. Our band now performes regulary, with an incredible stage presence and confidence that only hard work and dedication can bring.
In 2013, our program branched out to include the iASO Bachata Program, which brings young musicians back to the roots of Dominican music and exposes them to the most popular form of music from their country. Most of our students are now taking lessons in all diciplines of music, from Jazz, to Bachata...and rock!
DREAMin Live - Wimbash Cabarete, our Annual Fundraiser for the Music Program, is proud to present The Sugar Hill Gang this June, 21st, 2014. This will be a free concert on the beach of Cabarete, with local artists, DR musicians and the world's most famous hip hop group performing. There will be a week of workshops and one on one classes with the students, culminating in a special performance on the beach for the DREAM kids.
Thanks to YOU! Imagine, where would our students be without your vision and generosity?
