Wimbash Cabarete 2013 is teaming up with the DREAM Music Program to offer music education to children in need. Multi Grammy Award winning musicians Living Colour will perform in Cabarete on May 11th in support of this great cause. Please make sure you spread the word and join us for an amazing weekend of music, education and DREAMs! All proceeds will go towards our campaign.
The DREAM Project has proudly combined forces with the WimBash Music Festival Series to connect aspiring student musicians with bassist Doug Wimbish’s charitable community of world-wide professional musicians.
In the Dominican Republic, a country suffering from one of the worst education systems in the world, the likelihood of a Dominican child completing a quality education is extraordinarily low. The DREAM Project (Dominican Republic Education And Mentoring Project), focuses on raising consciousness and much-needed funds for innovative youth education programs. Jonathan Wunderlich (DREAM project Development Director) says “the shared belief is that quality, early and continuing education is the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty and change destinies. The vision is that all children born in the Dominican Republic have the opportunity to receive an education and learn to their full potential.”
Through the vision, love and compassion of our musical guests, WimBash>>Cabarete will offer DR residents and visitors the opportunity to attend one of the year’s finest concerts, while at the same time creating an innovative platform for musical expression, one that uses music to reach children in need and raise funds for their education and future.
