Treatment for 74 children with Muscular Dystrophy

With the pleasure of greeting you again and sharing our achievements with you, we thank all our donors who join our noble cause through the GLOBALGIVIN platform, for their great support in continuing to provide our children and young people with DUCHENNE an integral service to treat their condition.

On this occasion, the donations received correspond to the months of May to August 2022, were used to provide 30 physical and pulmonary therapies to our 74 Beneficiaries, which were implemented by our physiotherapist.

           Physical physiotherapy: As a treatment for neuromuscular disorders, it helps to maintain and              increase, as far as possible, the current level of function and mobility of the child. Its main                      purposes are:

• Provide a physical assessment
• Minimize the development of contractures
• Maintain muscle strength
• Prolong mobility and functionality                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Respiratory Physiotherapy: In patients with DMD it is essential from a very young age, and its primary function is to: Help expel secretions from the thorax, avoid bronchial obstruction and, as a consequence, secondary infection.
