MULTIART - Ninth Report

By Israel Neto | Project Manager

Project Recap

The Multiarte Project aims to promote cultural enrichment and encourage both personal and social transformation through immersive experiences in diverse artistic expressions. These experiences are offered through a broad program of activities encompassing visual, auditory, and performing arts. The initiative also focuses on improving existing workshops to provide participants with deeper and more meaningful artistic experiences.

Recent Activities with Participating StudentsTHEATER

Students participating in theater classes worked on the following aspects:

  • Body and Vocal Expression
Development of the body and voice as communication tools.
Working on posture, gestures, movements, and vocal tone.
Exploring rhythm, space, and timing on stage.

  • Creativity and Imagination
    Creating stories, characters, and settings.
Engaging in drama games and theatrical activities that stimulate inventiveness.

  • Group Work and Socialization
Encouraging cooperation and mutual respect in group work.
Learning to listen to others and share responsibilities during scenes.

  • Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem
Overcoming shyness through activities that promote individual expression.
Valuing one’s own ideas and those of classmates.

ORCHESTRA

During music instrument practice and band rehearsals, students learned about:

  • Scale Exercises
Developing the ability to define the key and notes used in a melody.

  • Main Theme from the Movie “Avengers”
Chosen for its relatively simple arrangement and familiar theme, which resonates with young people and increases engagement.

  • “Canon” by Pachelbel
A classical reference for violin students. Its more elaborate arrangements require consistent practice, encouraging students to improve each session.

DANCE

Dance classes focused on urban and contemporary styles often practiced in street and urban environments.

Activities included:

  • Warm-Up
Sessions begin with warm-up routines to prepare the body, including stretching and joint mobility exercises.

  • Movement Technique
Students learned the foundations of styles such as popping, locking, breaking, hip-hop, waacking, among others.

  • Choreography
Classes included learning and practicing choreographies that integrate specific techniques and moves from the chosen dance style.

  • Personal Expression
Students were encouraged to add their personal flair and creativity, making each performance unique.

  • Rhythm and Musicality
Emphasis was placed on syncing movements with music, developing a strong sense of rhythm and musical expression—key elements in street dance.

PHOTOGRAPHY

In photography classes, students engaged in hands-on learning about the following topics:

  • Types of Light
Natural light: Understanding how to use sunlight, including golden hour and soft light on cloudy days.
Artificial light: Using artificial sources like flashes, lamps, and spotlights.

  • Light Direction
    Front lighting: Minimizes shadows.
Side lighting: Adds contrast with more defined shadows.
    Backlighting: Creates silhouettes and outlines.

  • Color Temperature
Understanding the light spectrum and how different sources (daylight, incandescent, fluorescent) emit varying temperatures of color.
