Thanks to your generous support, FAME, Inc. is continuing its mission to prepare and motivate traditionally underrepresented students and girls in grades 7-12 to enter college and complete a baccalaureate degree in engineering or other STEM related fields of study.
How we are STEMulating Knowledge?
Our 7th and 8th grade students were introduced to Java Script as a part of Computer Science Education Week, while our 11th and 12th grade students sharpened their critical reading skills and prepared for PSATs and SATs. Our Robotics Club teams have led two exhibits sparking young engineering minds by showcasing their robots at the Delaware Children's Museum and have competed in two regional competitions.
Thanks to you, we have raised $1,816! We are able to send 50 of our students on a college tour of John Hopkins University and the University of Maryland.
We are currently accepting applications for our 2014 Summer session and have engaged in new partnerships with other science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) focused organizations.
This year we plan to increase the amount of students enrolled in our programs, expand our STEMulate Change curriculum, and strengthen partnerships with our parents to ensure they have a voice in their students' home schools.
As always, we are appreciative of your continued support and hope to encourage more volunteers and supporters to join our success in STEM education at FAME, Inc.
