MotherSchools: Parenting for Peace in India

Following the preparatory activities of the last reporting period, between June and October 2025 our MotherSchools India continued with the second phase of the project, the implementation of the MotherSchools Sessions:

• Mobilisation of Participants (completed)
• Community intervention programmes with mobilised Participants to introduce them to MotherSchools and keep them engaged until sessions begin (continued)
• Entry assessment conducted: Entry Interviews and Entry Questionnaires
• Roll-out of 8 weekly MotherSchools Sessions across 5 regions in Kerala (ongoing)
• Weekly monitoring in the form of reports and calls (ongoing)

Over the next few months, the final two MotherSchools Sessions will be implemented, followed by the Exit assessment (Exit Interviews and Exit Questionnaires). The culminating Graduation Ceremony is in the works and is planned for November 2025.

The 2025 iteration of MotherSchools India began in January with a kick-off workshop between Women without Borders (WwB) and our Local Implementing Partner (LIP) Fourth Wave Foundation (FWF). In line with the timeline and organisational plan developed during this initial workshop, the following activities were implemented between January and June:

• Identification of 5 implementation locations throughout Kerala
• Mobilisation of Teachers and Notetakers
• Trainer Academy Workshop
• Local Training of the Teachers and Notetakers (ToT) Workshop
• Mobilisation of Participants (ongoing)
• Community intervention programmes with mobilised Participants to introduce them to MotherSchools and keep them engaged until sessions begin

Over the next few months, mobilisation of Participants will be finalised, Entry Interviews and Entry Questionnaires will be conducted as part of our standard Monitoring & Evaluation process, and Roll-out will begin with the first few sessions taking place at the end of summer.
