In June, we made use of this long vacation to repair the school building.India has the rainy season, the dry season, heat waves and storms, so outside walls are easily damaged. Periodic repair is required. We plastered the mixture of white cement and mud on the walls.
On the other hand, we did public relations activities in the area near or surrounding the school for children who still cannot go to school. Even though some children go to public school that does not cost tuition, parents are not satisfied with the quality of teachers, or want expose their children to a high level environment of education. The villagers used to have no understanding and interest in education, but recently they understand the importance of it for getting jobs.
Also teachers of Mother Baby School called at the homes of students during summer vacation. The students ask questions about homework, they really did their best to develop their understandings.
In July, new school term began. Thanks to the information campaign during the previous month, new students entered into Mother Baby School. The students remaining in school moved up. They fight desperately against their new textbooks every day, but look happy getting new knowledge, and focus on classes. Now Mother Baby School has more boys than in preceding year. They have already got along with each other, sometimes fought. They made up instantly, which is the very “a spat is the evidence they get along with each other”, the Japanese famous idiomatic phrase. The students have experiences of quarrels and reconciliations, and grow healthily.
In August, the fifth study tour was carried out. Participants were men and women of all ages, but their cooperation was really great. For example, they planned enjoyable entertainments for children and considered how they can do in easy way. In the exchange program, they introduced about Japanese festival and food culture. They also cerebrate the independence day of India. Although it was two-days visit, some of them cried at the time to say goodbye. For all students, participants and staffs, the study tour in this occasion was a valuable experience.
Thanks to your warm supports, we had more students than before. We beg your continuous support. Thank you.
