1. Emergency Rehousing: Safe Shelter for Earthquake Victims
In response to the devastating earthquake that struck the Al Haouz region, we launched an urgent intervention to provide secure housing for displaced families. With the collective support of our donors and volunteers, we were able to offer temporary and essential shelters to victims, ensuring their safety during this critical period.

Key figures of the emergency rehousing:

250 mobile homes were installed to provide safe shelter for families.
55 sanitation units were set up to ensure decent hygiene and reduce health risks in the temporary rehousing areas.

These actions allowed us to house more than 1,250 people in safety, providing a protected environment while awaiting long-term housing solutions.

2. Swiss Collaboration: A Pilot Village for Transforming Mobile Homes into Sustainable Tourist Lodges
Thanks to generous funding from the Swiss Association, we have been able to establish a unique pilot project for the region. This project aims to transform the mobile homes into sustainable tourist lodges, creating an innovative model that combines the urgency of the situation with long-term sustainable development.

The program includes several key components:

Community Support: Assisting in the creation of a local cooperative to manage the lodges.
Transformation of Mobile Homes: The temporary housing units will be redesigned and furnished to become tourist lodges, showcasing local culture and traditions through their decor and furniture.
Training for Villagers: Providing training for local residents to manage and maintain the lodges, fostering economic independence within the community.

This model of sustainable tourism will support the local economy while offering visitors an authentic and eco-friendly experience.

3. Transition to Permanent Reconstruction
As we continue the transformation of the mobile homes into tourist lodges, we are now entering the next phase of the project: permanent home reconstruction for the earthquake victims of Al Haouz. This transition to permanent housing is crucial for giving affected families a true and lasting home.

The goal is to rebuild permanent homes for 400 families who did not receive state aid. These homes will be designed to withstand the region's climate conditions and provide a safe and comfortable environment for families.

Next Steps:

Permanent House Construction: The start of construction for permanent homes for the affected families.
Infrastructure Strengthening: Rehabilitation of essential infrastructure, such as water, electricity, and sanitation, to ensure a dignified and secure life for the displaced families.

The project is progressing steadily, thanks to the unwavering support of our donors and partners. With the invaluable help of the Swiss Association and the dedication of our team, we are making significant strides in building sustainable solutions for the people of Al Haouz. Re-housing access assistance report

Our Rehousin access assistance focuses on repairing infrastructure damaged by the September earthquake in the Al Haouz region and temporarily rehousing disaster victims in safe conditions. The primary goal of this phase is to guarantee solid, safe shelters while rehabilitating essential infrastructure, including water, electricity, and sanitation networks.

Activities Carried Out:

Water Connections: Repair teams restored water pipes in several affected villages, ensuring an adequate water supply for affected families.
Electrification: Sustained efforts were made to restore electricity to the affected areas, enabling families to regain access to essential services.
Installation of Septic Tanks: Septic tanks were installed to ensure adequate sanitary conditions in temporary relocation areas, reducing health risks.
Relocation of Disaster Victims: Families were relocated to secure temporary shelters while waiting for the reconstruction of their damaged homes.

Results Achieved:

173 Families have been rehoused in 173 temporary housing units, ensuring safe shelter for each affected family.
40 Sanitation Units were installed, significantly improving hygiene and sanitation conditions in the temporary rehousing areas.

Recalled Objectives:

Repair 6,014 homes for 6,014 families.
Rehabilitate infrastructure in 117 affected villages.
Install 850 sanitation units to ensure adequate sanitation conditions.

Next Objectives:

Finalize infrastructure repairs in the remaining villages.
Accelerate the rehousing process for families still affected.
Strengthen sanitation measures to ensure public health in temporary relocation areas.
Develop manufacturing workshops to promote a sustainable economy and offer paid work opportunities for local youth.

The JoodVILLAGES project is progressing with determination in its mission to repair infrastructure and rehouse disaster victims. Our ongoing efforts aim to rebuild resilient communities and promote sustainable development in the regions affected by the earthquake. Rehousing of earthquake victims report

Our rehousing project, JoodVILLAGES, focuses on repairing infrastructure damaged by the September earthquake in the Al Haouz region, and temporarily rehousing disaster victims in safe conditions. The aim of this phase is to guarantee solid, safe shelter, as well as to rehabilitate communities affected by damage to essential infrastructure such as water, electricity and sanitation networks.

Activities carried out :

Electrification: Sustained efforts were made to restore electricity to affected areas, enabling families to regain access to electricity for their daily needs.
Installation of septic tanks: Work was undertaken to install septic tanks to ensure adequate sanitary conditions in temporary relocation areas, thereby reducing health risks.
Relocation of disaster victims: Several families have been relocated to secure temporary shelters pending the reconstruction of their damaged homes.

Results achieved:
155 Families rehoused in 155 temporary housing units, ensuring safe shelter for each affected family.
35 Sanitation Units were installed, improving hygiene and sanitation conditions in the temporary rehousing areas.
