Expanding Opportunities for Women in Education

By Sofia Presno | Director of Institutional Development and Adm

Expanding Opportunities for Women in Education

At ÁNIMA, we believe that expanding access to education also means creating opportunities for more women to develop their potential and build meaningful careers.

While increasing female participation in our Technological Baccalaureate (BT), particularly in ICT, remains an ongoing challenge shared across the technology sector, encouraging progress can be seen through FINEST, our program for adult learners.

In 2026, women represented 55% of all FINEST students, with 85 women enrolled out of a total of 153 students, demonstrating the program's strong ability to engage adult women seeking to complete their upper secondary education and strengthen their career opportunities.

Participation varies across learning modalities:

  • Virtual modality: 60% women (35 out of 58 students).
  • Hybrid modality: 52% women (50 out of 95 students).

These figures suggest that flexible learning pathways can play an important role in reducing barriers to education for women, many of whom balance work, family responsibilities, and other commitments alongside their studies.

Although attracting more young women to technological education continues to be a priority, the growing participation of women in FINEST shows that accessible and flexible educational models can help close gender gaps and create new opportunities for lifelong learning, employability, and professional growth.
