In 2021 The Monument Wildfire tore through the small mountain communities of Trinity County California. The recovery journey has been rigorous for these small communities and they have exhausted all resources. Many burn scared trees and debris are now a future wildfire hazard and also a safety hazard for the local citizens. Please help us with the Trinity County Monument Wildfire Mitigation Program's 100 foot safety home hardening zone to help keep the survivors safe.
After the 2021 Monument Wildfire, basic mitigation and cleanup occured from the original FEMA and OES response. It is now 2024 and many survivors are still struggling with the remains of dead trees and bushes on their properties and community areas that pose a Wildfire Hazard and personal safety issues. All FEMA and OES mitigation funds have been exhausted. These families have invested all their resources on their home repairs and rebuilding recovery process and do not have mitigation funds.
The NVCSS Monument Wildfire Mitigation Program is raising $250,000.00 to provide professional mitigation services to the low income, elderly and access / functional needs survivors. Tree felling and brush clearing around their homes will be done in alignment to the Trinity County Wildfire Prevention Program goals and safety standards.
By removing the dead standing trees and vegetations around survivors homes and community neighborhoods it will reduce the risk of potential future wildfires as well as provide for the health and safety of the general community. This also meets the Trinity County Firesafe Councils Wildfire Protection Plan's home hardening 100 foot safety zone around homes.
