Dear Donors,
Thank you for your generous donations towards the A Month of Freedom for the Tsau White Lion Pride at the Global White Lion Protection Trust in South Africa. The project is fully funded: we surpassed our goal and raised almost $9,000! We are so grateful for your commitment to protecting these magnificent creatures!
Unfortunately, during the second week of our campaign, one of the beautiful Tsau lionesses, Kalahari, passed away. The circumstances of her death are inconclusive, though wildlife veterinarians suggested that she died from unknown natural causes. Her loss is a tragedy for our team and a harsh reminder of the challenges faced in introducing lions back into the wild. However, it also reinforces the importance of the work that we do here at the Global White Lion Protection Trust.
Project funds will continue to be used for the Tsau activities listed on the project: protected area management, veterinary emergencies, protection from trophy hunting threats, anti-poaching security, scientific research and daily monitoring. Excess project funds will support similar activities on one of our three sanctuary areas - Tsau, Shidolo and Mbube. We look forward to reporting specific project activities and successes in the near future.
Please see our Facebook page for more information and we hope that you consider funding future white lion projects on Global Giving.
With gratitude,
Kendra & the White Lion Pride
