This project seeks to fight against HIV/AIDS in Jinja by means of Awareness Raising and Voluntary Counseling and Testing campaigns
HIV prevalence rate in Jinja District is about 8% higher than the national average of 6.4%. This is a cause of concern and requires interventions. The project is targeting the HIV/AIDS prevalence in the rural communities in Jinja District and will be directed towards promotion of "safer sex" practices, Voluntary Counseling and Testing, information with audio-visual equipment, improvement in the care of HIV infected and AIDS patients and prevention of mother-to-child transmission
The organization will organize HIV/AIDS Awareness Raising Campaigns and Voluntary Counseling and Testing. It will also carry out Home Based Care
This project will contribute to a reduced HIV prevalence in 12 villages in Jinja District with a projected catchment population of 5000 people, children,men and women
