The months of May, June and July brought heavy rains to the Tana Delta. The roads leading to the villages which the mobile library services were flooded and water logged. The team attempted to brave the rains to bring the library to the schools, however the bus was stuck in the mud. As a result the service was suspended during the rainy season.
The school holidays started in August. During this lull period, the team restocked the books and is raring to resume the service once the school term begins again. Term resumed in September and so did the mobile library service. This term we have added Marifano Secondary School to the program and the library now services 3 secondary schools on the Delta. The other 2 schools are Buyani Secondary School and Gardeni Secondary School.
We are looking forward to more students enjoying the mobile library this term as the dry season begins.
