Dear Donors!

Happy to meet you all once again with the story of Vikas (name changed)!

Vikas hates his dad. And he does not prefer to talk about his father to anyone. Wondering why?

It is a sad story. Vikas's mother died a year ago. She was beaten up and killed by her husband. Yes, Vikas's father killed his mother because of his doubting nature. He was imprisoned but somehow managed to come out of the prison. Vikas and his 2 siblings are now brought up by his grandparents. His grandfather works as a peon in a company.

This is the reason for Vikas's hatred. After this sad incident, Vikas and his siblings were much upset. Their studies were affected. So they were admitted to the New Life's coaching centre in Kodappu. The coaching class teacher gave special attention to the kids. They were counselled by the New Life staff. They are slowly recovering from the shock they met with. Vikas is a bold boy and has recovered quickly.

Vikas is a creative boy. He is good in Tamil and Science.  He scores good marks in his class. He writes poems in Tamil and his writing skills are really good.

Our team took Vikas to Nagamangalam skill training centre on Independence Day. Vikas read his wonderful poem on "Mother" and about the country. It was appreciated by all the elders. Vikas is an inspiration to all the adolescents there and in his coaching class.

While returning I asked Vikas, "How do you get into poem writing?" He answered, "I started writing poems when I was 10 years old. After my mom's death, I stopped writing. When I joined the coaching class, I also became a member of the mobile library. I borrowed books of many writers and especially the famous poets Bharathiar and Bharathidasan. It induced the poet in me. I started writing again."

Talents of children like Vikas is improved/induced by the different books they borrow from the library. However there is a shortage of funds for the operation of the library. Hence it could not be expanded and our dream of reaching out to many children still remains a dream.

Dear donors kindly support our dream of reaching out to atleast 1000 children this year by donating to us. You can also support us by spreading words about the project to your like minded friends and relatives. Speak about us in your social media. Thank you for your support.
