Dear Donors,
We are happy to introduce you to Mathi (name changed), 12 years old and living in Kajapettai. She is from a very poor background and she wants to become a teacher.
She says "I always love to read books and where ever I go my eyes search for books. I just want to read more and more and I read all kinds of books. I want to improve my skills in English language as I want to become a teacher. But I had less opportunities in getting English books. Thanks to the library of New Life, I, as a member of the library can read more English books now. And I am sure I can develop my language skill by reading more and more books."
You can see Mathi having a grammar book in her hands and this gives us the hope that she will march towards her goal steadily.
On 15th August, that is today, we had Independence Day celebrations in Kodappu. We had an opportunity to talk to the general public and youth there about the mobile library and its uses. The community was motivated to join the library. They are interested in becoming members.
As a gift of the Indian Independence Day, books on competitive exams are donated by the Rotary Club of Diamond City Queens to our mobile library in front of the people.
Due to fund constraint the mobile library is now operating in two slums and we have plans to expand it to 3 more slums if we get the minimum funding for part of salary of staff and fuel for vehicle.
Kindly support us to expand the horizon of our children and youth.
With regards
