In our last outreach, PAFA screened 250 children in Kole District and found that about 80%
had preventable or treatable conditions, including worms, malaria, respiratory infections,
and skin infections. This evidence is now shaping a more regular, community-based screening
and deworming programme.
What we achieved so far
What this means for children and families
Many families live far from health facilities and lack clear information on hygiene, malaria prevention, immunisation, nutrition and worm prevention. As a result, children often present late with conditions that could have been prevented or treated earlier through simple, community-based interventions.
Next phase: what your support will make possible
Why this matters to GlobalGiving donors
This project turns early evidence into action: it brings preventive services closer to children who currently face barriers of distance, cost, and information. Donor support will directly fund outreach activities, essential supplies, referral coordination, and simple but robust monitoring so we can show clear results and learn quickly.
Safeguarding and risk management.
