GlobeMed's Winter Update

By Evan Cioni | Member of Finance Committee

We’re over halfway there! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’ve already been able to exceed our expectations, and have raised $5,600 of our $10,000 yearly goal in our first semester alone--and we’re hoping to raise an even greater amount during our second semester. Our GlobeMed members are currently busy at work planning fundraisers that we hope will provide Haiti's Maison de Naissance birthing clinic with the needed funds to continue their mission.

As usual, we have several fundraising campaigns that we will but putting on throughout this semester. Our members will be working to put on a trivia night, a Haitian Celebration event, a breakfast sale, our Global Get Down event, and several small business campaigns. As always, all funds raised by these events will be donated directly to Maison de Naissance. In addition to our fundraising efforts, we also believe that promoting awareness is extremely important to our mission, which is why this semester we will be putting on two awareness events: Global Health Action Week, and World Day of Social Justice. We hope that these events will help to raise awareness and concern for global health issues across campus. Additionally, we will once again be sending a group of our GlobeMed members to Maison de Naissance this summer in order to help strengthen the partnership between Maison de Naissance and GlobeMed's Truman chapter.

Given that your support is so incredibly important to us, we’d like to take this opportunity to ask you, our donors, how you think we could work together with you to draw wider support for the cause. It can’t be overstated how much of an impact that you have on the lives of the mothers who rely on Maison de Naissance, and we can’t thank you enough for your continued generosity.

            GlobeMed Love
