February 2026 Highlights
February was a meaningful month for Minlemo as we joined the global community in observing International Childhood Cancer Day (February 15).
During the month, we participated in awareness activities and community events in Japan, helping more people learn about childhood cancer and the experiences of children and families navigating treatment and recovery. Through conversations and direct engagement, many visitors encountered these realities for the first time.
Alongside awareness efforts, Minlemo continued providing care package support and opportunities for connection, ensuring that children and families could feel supported not only on special awareness days, but throughout their everyday lives.
Support Overview
Care package support: 80 individuals
Connection & community support: 171 individuals (Online: 71, In-person: 100)
Regions Reached
Support was delivered to families in 19 prefectures across Japan:
Iwate, Miyagi, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Niigata, Yamanashi, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, Ehime, Oita, Okinawa
International Childhood Cancer Day in Action
International Childhood Cancer Day reminded us that families facing childhood cancer share similar challenges regardless of country or culture.
Through awareness events and community engagement, we were able to create moments of understanding and connection, helping reduce isolation while encouraging society to better recognize the emotional and social needs of children living with serious illness.
Every conversation and shared experience helps expand a circle of care that reaches beyond individual communities.
Looking Ahead
Since its founding, Minlemo has created opportunities for children and families across Japan to stay connected through online community programs, allowing participants to support one another regardless of distance or health condition.
Building on these experiences, we hope to gradually expand our online connection programs beyond Japan, creating opportunities for children and families to safely meet and talk with peers overseas.
Even a simple online conversation can help children realize they are not alone — not only within Japan, but across the world.
Thank You
To everyone supporting Minlemo from Japan and around the world — thank you for walking alongside us.
Your support allows us to continue delivering connection, care, and hope to children and families navigating serious illness. Together, we are building a community where no child or family feels alone.
