GHC will provide lifesaving infant and maternal training to local midwives and traditional birth attendants (TBA's) in Myanmar. Our training will empower young women to advance in their critical roles as local health workers. These women will in turn help other women (and infants) by assisting in dignified and safe births by training them on basic and emergency obstetric care via simulation training.
There continues to be an acute shortage in midwives and traditional health attendants in remote, underresourced communities in Myanmar. Global Health Charities seeks to provide necessary midwifery training to young women in Myanmar, to allow them to advance in their health care roles, impacting other women and their infants.
GHC can provide the necessary hands-on training to new and working midwives and traditional birth attendants. For both educators and students, access to the basic and advanced skills simulation training is desperately needed and will lead to better outcomes both at birth and for these health care providers.
Decreased infant and maternal mortality as well as brighter futures for the women benefitting from the education and training provided.
