Thank you for your support of this project, I'm writing to share an update on ActionAid's response in the Middle East.
ActionAid’s response in the region, particularly Lebanon, is providing life-saving assistance to internally displaced people, vulnerable host communities and refugees, especially those outside formal service structures, including people living in informal shelters and hard-to-reach areas. Across North Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, Beirut and Mount Lebanon, assistance includes ready-to-eat food, non-food items, hygiene kits and integrated protection services such as psychosocial support, GBV prevention and response, and individual case management.
But beyond this immediate relief and as the crisis continues, ActionAid is progressively shifting towards early recovery and resilience, including cash assistance, livelihoods and income-generating support, and youth-led community initiatives. A feminist, locally led approach places women’s rights organizations, women and young people at the centre of program design and delivery, while community feedback and consultation mechanisms strengthen accountability to affected populations. By linking emergency assistance with protection, livelihoods and community leadership, the response aims to restore dignity, strengthen social cohesion and household resilience, and reduce longer-term reliance on humanitarian assistance.
Your continued generosity is integral to these efforts moving forward. Thank you for your support.
