Thank you for your generous donation to the Middle East Crisis Relief Fund.

Humanitarian needs remain immense across the Middle East, particularly in Palestinian and Lebanese communities facing continued attacks and displacement. No single organization can reach everyone affected, and some communities and needs are too easily overlooked.

That's why your contributions to this Fund matter. They allow GlobalGiving to support a network of vetted, locally led organizations, each bringing its own expertise, community relationships, and approaches to reaching people with the assistance they need.

In this latest round of funding, our partners are putting those resources to work in different ways: distributing food, improving access to care for people with disabilities, strengthening livelihoods, and supporting community-led initiatives. Together, their work reflects the many forms that humanitarian assistance can take, both during an immediate crisis and in the months and years that follow.

Here is a closer look at some of the work your generosity is supporting:

  • Dalia Association supports grassroots initiatives through its Gaza Fund, where funding decisions are made by a committee of civil society leaders, women, and activists embedded in the community. This includes the Sheep Valley Initiative, where Palestinian families share grazing land and collectively care for livestock, as well as rehabilitate damaged agricultural land using sustainable, low-cost techniques. The initiative helps families grow food, sustain livelihoods, and reclaim land affected by the conflict.
  • Help Me and Take My Hand Association provides rehabilitation services, psychosocial support, assistive devices, inclusive educational and community activities, and emergency assistance for people with disabilities and their families in rural and underserved communities in the West Bank. Through its relationships with rural and underserved communities, the organization helps Palestinian families access specialized care and humanitarian assistance that might otherwise be difficult to reach.
  • FoodBlessed is a volunteer-driven hunger-relief and food-rescue nonprofit in Lebanon that continues to provide hot meals, medications, and baby supplies to refugees and displaced Lebanese people who were forced from their homes due to fighting between Hezbollah and the Israeli army. FoodBlessed’s work focuses in part on people who may be overlooked by the traditional aid sector, extending support to communities experiencing food insecurity and displacement.
  • Achvat Amim - Solidarity of Nations coordinates volunteers who provide a protective presence and document human rights violations in areas of the West Bank vulnerable to settler assaults and violence. Achvat Amim volunteers accompany Palestinian farmers and shepherds during harvest periods and assist with activities such as planting trees and repairing damaged community structures after settler attacks. The organization also leads educational and activist programs focused on building positive relationships between Palestinians and Israelis.

Together, these partnerships represent the diverse and critical nature of the work you have supported across so many communities. We know we cannot reach every person or community ourselves. Instead, we can help resource partners whose relationships, knowledge, and networks allow them to respond in different places and to different needs dynamically as the regional crisis continues to evolve.

Your generosity makes it possible for these organizations to support their communities through unimaginable circumstances. Thank you for being part of a network of donors and nonprofit partners working together to extend the reach of care and resources.

It gives us hope, and we hope it gives you hope too.

In solidarity,

Kyra + the GlobalGiving Team

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
