Margerat is 58 years old women married with 4 children and lives with 1 granddaughter. She lives in Bujwahya East, small farming village in Hoima. Margerat owns a small milling plant in the area which is the only milling plant is the area. This brings a lot of demand for her service however this was affected by harsh realities of life.
Margerat's struggles. She had financial challenges that limit her from running her business effectively and efficiently. Less money to pay for electricity to run the machine, maintenance for the machine and pay the worker who operates the machine. Also, she had limited knowledge in record keeping and budgeting.
Margerat's hope restored. Last year in December 2024, she joined microloan project of our organisation in which she first went through training on budgeting, marketing and branding, record keeping and more and then offered a loan of one million to boost her business.
With the small loan in her hands, Margerat is now able to pay for electricity, worker and maintenance of the machine on time. She says “the loan has enhance my business, I can cover operation costs any time which increases my income. ”
Furthermore, Magerat attained knowlegde that helps her run her businesss moothly. She now keeps records for her business and budgets for money before spending.
Margerat is grateful to donors who provide funds that enable women in rural communities boost their businesses hence transforming their lives.
