The project aimed at empowering vulnerable rural women in Uganda through entrepreneurship and leadership training has made significant progress since the initial report. This update highlights the key developments and outcomes achieved thus far.
Training Conducted
Twelve beneficiaries attended comprehensive training as part of the project initiation. The training focused on equipping participants with essential entrepreneurship and leadership skills necessary for business development and management. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, women gained valuable insights and knowledge to enhance their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Supporting for existing Small Businesses
In line with our commitment to supporting women's economic empowerment, three women with existing businesses have already received small loans to improve their ventures. The loans range from $100 - $500, depending on the type of business initiatives. These financial resources enable entrepreneurs to invest in their ventures. This included expanding their product portfolios, improving product quality, and customer service. The financial support will catalyse sustainable growth and development within rural communities.
Support for New Business Ideas
Women with innovative business ideas have also received support to kickstart their ventures. We recognise the potential for creativity and innovation among participants. Our team has facilitated access to mentorship to help women turn their ideas into viable business opportunities. Women have ideas such as making and distributing soap, producing snacks, and selling clothes. These ideas require some extra training and mentoring, so they are in the process of setting up.
Constant Monitoring
To ensure the effectiveness and impact of the project, constant mentoring and monitoring will be a key component of this initiative. This system enables the project team to track the progress of participants, assess the outcomes of training and financial support interventions, and measure the overall impact on women's empowerment and economic development.
