SkillsUSA Fundraising Progress

By Jim Stoch | Project Leader

Thank you!

We appreciate your support as we work towards our SkillsUSA funding goals! We continue to make incremental progress through GlobalGiving and in support of #GivingTuesday we launched a microproject, Fuel the Dreams by Funding Transportation.

In addition to crowd funding, the staff and students at SVCTE are working on other projects and events to help raise the necessary funds to send more students to competitions and build greater awareness of SkillsUSA.

The 4th annual Haunted House was a featured project supporting SkillsUSA in collaboration between Mechatronics Engineering instructor Jim and Fashion instructor Johnny. This was a self-guided, high-tech, haunted path through a spooky graveyard and indoor scenes.

While the Haunted House was a huge success the real story and testament to the talents of the students preparing for the SkillsUSA competition was the designing of the Halloween dress and the construction of the Magic Wheelchair bus for Reina, a 15 year old whose wheelchair makes it difficult to find costumes. Check out NBC Bay Area news for all the details!

In the coming months as we continue to raise funds and awareness we will keep you informed about the progress of the students as they prepare for the 2020 competitions. We look forward to you sharing our achievements with your friends, family and community.

Gratefully yours,

MetroEd Foundation
